Stop Dreaming and START FLYING!

Without pilots…there is no aviation, and what's the first step towards becoming a pilot?  The answer is a Soloflight Flying Gift Card

Still not sure?

After the flight.... read Carls letter of thanks HERE (personal information removed)

On the day of your flight you'll be accompanied by a professional Qualified Flying Instructor and in an experience lasting approximately one hour, early fears are soon dispelled together with many of the myths and legends. Your Instructor will  explain all the controls and instruments and will afford you every opportunity to manoeuvre the aircraft around the sky for yourself. This often includes the actual take-off.

Your first flight will earn you a personalised flight certificate signed by the Instructor and may be credited towards your own pilots licence, although one lady of 90 years was satisfied to have earned her colourful souvenir!

Your experience of approximately one hour will take you over the Humber Bridge or maybe even your home if the weather permits. You can extend your flight time for an upgrade fee, and include Spurn Point. Other routes are available. Please discuss your requirements when booking your flight. All flights give you an opportunity to fly the aircraft and see the local area, and extended flights are available by prior arrangement and upgrade fee.

Free annual membership for one person and worth £100 is included in the cost. Soloflight conduct all their flight training on Piper Warrior four seat aircraft. If you have friends who are interested in learning to fly too, they can share your lesson at no extra cost once they become temporary Club members. Their membership will cost £10 each, is valid for one month and will cover all their lessons too.

As the weight and balance of the aircraft is important for safety, please advise the approximate weights of all participants prior to booking to ensure that all people are able to fly. Flying Gift Cards are valid for 3 months. Full terms and conditions HERE

FAQ
Is it hard to learn to fly?

No. People of all shapes and sizes, ages and abilities have learned to fly. It’s fun, and from the beginning of your training, you get to do most of the actual flying! On the practical side, while flying isn’t a difficult skill to learn, you’ll have to be willing to stick with it until you meet all the requirements. Also, you should consider the cost of becoming a pilot - you’ll have to pay for your medical examination and your lessons.

Is flying safe?

Yes. A well-built and well-maintained aircraft flown by a competent and prudent pilot is as safe or safer than many other forms of transportation.

If engine the engine stops, what will happen?

Modern aircraft engines are reliable and failure rarely occurs. However, your instructor is well trained to land the aircraft safely and your lessons will cover what to do in this situation, including selecting a good landing area and safely landing.
